Rachel Alkire, L.Ac.
Rachel Alkire has been practicing healing arts in the Bay Area for over 15 years and she is passionate about what she does. As an acupuncturist, her greatest joy is supporting individuals and couples on their path to parenthood. Over the years, she has helped numerous families achieve their dream of having a baby. Whether you have been struggling to conceive, are planning an IUI or IVF assisted conception, or you simply want to enhance your pre-conceptive health, Rachel will be there to guide you every step of the way. Her approach to fertility combines an up-to-date knowledge of functional medicine with the ancient wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine so her patients get the best of both worlds.
Rachel’s work is deeply influenced by her years of experience as a birth doula, prenatal massage therapist, and home birth mama. She knows firsthand how vulnerable and transformative pregnancy, birth, and postpartum can be. She ensures her patients are well-supported throughout this time so they never have to feel alone or without resources. Rachel is also one of the few acupuncturists in the Bay Area specializing in pediatric care. She loves working with kids and is constantly amazing by their sensitivity and resilience.
In addition to reproductive health, Rachel works with numerous other issues including acute and chronic pain, digestive health, autoimmune disease, allergies, emotional health, trauma recovery, and more.
Rachel considers herself incredibly lucky to be doing the work that she does She loves engaging with people and each treatment is tailored to the individual. Rachel also considers her work a spiritual practice. She strives to bring her highest self into every treatment and be fully present with her patients. Rachel knows the value of listening and provides a safe space for people to express themselves. Rachel welcomes people of all genders, cultural backgrounds, and family configurations to her practice.
When she’s not at the office, Rachel enjoys hiking, gardening, paddle boarding, writing, and spending time with her and two boys (ages 8 and 10).
