Dashal Moore, L.Ac.
After being diagnosed with the autoimmune disease Hashimotos thyroiditis in 2009, Dashal became fascinated with how people become sick and how they heal. Disappointed with the incomplete solutions offered by conventional medicine, she developed her own approach to wellness using the tools of nutrition, functional medicine, and East Asian Medicine. What started as a frightening diagnosis led to a career shift that Dashal is grateful for everyday.
Dashal is a magna cum laude graduate of the Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine College in Berkeley, California. Outside of her graduate program, she studied extensively with Dr. Edith Chan of Dan Tian Wellness in San Francisco. Her work with Dr. Chan included a yearlong study of Tuina massage, a type of Chinese medical massage, and a yearlong study of diagnosis and acupuncture for musculoskeletal injury, sports medicine and sports performance. In addition, Dashal regularly attends seminars on functional medicine, which is a holistic approach to western medical science and practice.
Most of Dashal’s patients are struggling with autoimmune diseases, sleep disorders, hormonal imbalances, or acute or chronic pain conditions. She tailors treatments to the needs of each patient and always aims for the least amount of intervention to achieve the best results. Patients are assessed using traditional East Asian techniques, and, when warranted, western diagnostic tools such as blood or imaging labs. In addition to acupuncture, treatments often include Tuina massage, cupping, gua sha, herbal prescriptions, nutritional counseling and health education. Partnering with her patients, Dashal serves as detective, guide, and cheerleader as she supports each to find his or her fullest expression of health.
